Following our landmark 85th Anniversary Celebration in September 2026, SKML undertook a period of reflection and strategic planning to consider how we can continue to strengthen our organisation and attract the next generation of members, contributors and leaders who will help guide us towards our next major milestone, SKML's Centenary Celebration.
Among the many ideas and recommendations that emerged from these discussions was the importance of engaging thinkers, professionals, academics, practitioners and thought leaders, whether directly involved in our organisation or connected to our wider community.
It is from this vision that the SKML Dossier was conceived.
There is a timeless belief that one comes to understand a person not only through what they do and say, but also through what they write. The SKML Dossier seeks to showcase the intellectual depth, insights and perspectives that exist within our community while providing a platform for meaningful discourse on issues that matter.
Through this initiative, we will periodically invite opinion pieces, commentaries and thought leadership articles, primarily from members of our community, on contemporary issues and emerging trends. These contributions will explore subjects that have social, economic, technological, educational and cultural significance, examining both their potential implications and, where possible, proposing practical solutions.
Beyond strengthening engagement between contributors and SKML, the Dossier aims to foster a culture of critical thinking, informed discussion and lifelong learning. It serves as a reminder of the importance of remaining attentive to developments around us, understanding challenges before they become pressing concerns, and recognising opportunities that can benefit our community and society at large.
The Dossier will also serve as a valuable source of ideas and insights for the development of initiatives within SKML Lab, helping us identify emerging trends, anticipate future needs and explore innovative solutions to address them.
Ultimately, we believe that the SKML Dossier will benefit not only SKML but also the wider community and the nation. By encouraging thoughtful dialogue and the exchange of ideas, we hope to contribute meaningfully to the conversations that shape our collective future.
