Family Day – A Signature SKML Tradition

Family Day is one of SKML’s signature programmes, eagerly anticipated by both our seniors and younger members. In the past, large weddings served as key occasions for families and friends to gather, strengthen kinship, and build lasting bonds. However, with Covid restrictions, weddings that once welcomed thousands became smaller and quieter affairs.

In this new landscape, SKML’s annual Family Day—attracting close to 1,000 attendees—has become a cherished platform for families, children, and friends to reconnect. It provides an ideal occasion to rekindle relationships, share joy, and celebrate our sense of community.

This event is especially meaningful for our seniors, many of whom are less mobile due to age or health reasons. With busy modern lifestyles and the move away from close-knit enclaves, Family Day has grown into a much-needed opportunity for intergenerational bonding and the nurturing of community spirit.

Smiles shared across generations, warm embraces, and vibrant moments that reflect our community’s heart. From playful children to reflective elders, each image tells a story of belonging and celebration.
